Straight answers.
Everything people ask before their first Boss Auto rental — requirements, delivery, gig driving, hosting, and the new rent-to-own program.
What do I need to rent a car from Boss Auto?
A valid driver's license, a quick verification from your phone (license photo plus a selfie), and a payment card. We keep requirements simple and transparent — no games at pickup. If you've been turned away by the big chains, talk to us anyway; we work with real situations.
Do you rent to Uber, Lyft and DoorDash drivers?
Yes — gig drivers are our core customers. Our economy sedans and Teslas are rideshare and delivery ready, and our weekly gig rates are priced so the math still works after the apps take their cut.
Do you deliver the car to me?
Yes. We deliver across East Dallas and nearby areas — White Rock Lake, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Garland, Mesquite, Casa Linda, Casa View, Old East Dallas, Deep Ellum, Richardson, Rowlett, Balch Springs and Sunnyvale. Delivery windows and any fees are confirmed at booking.
Can I rent a Tesla without ever having driven an EV?
Absolutely — most of our Tesla renters are first-timers. We walk you through charging, Autopilot basics and regen braking at handoff, and you'll have our number if any question comes up on the road.
How does payment work? Do you take deposits?
Booking and payment run online through our secure Wheelbase engine. A refundable security deposit may apply depending on the vehicle; the exact amount is shown before you confirm — never a surprise at pickup.
What is the rent-to-own program?
Our newest program: rent an eligible car week to week, and a portion of your on-time payments builds as credit toward purchasing that car. No hard credit pull to start — you prove yourself with us, not with a bank's algorithm. Terms are being finalized now; join the waitlist on the Rent-to-Own page.
I own a car — what does hosting with Boss Auto mean?
You place your car in our managed fleet. We handle listing, pricing, vetted renters, cleaning and turnaround; you collect monthly income, earn club rental credits, and may unlock vehicle tax advantages. It's Turo income without the Turo job — see the Host Your Car page.
What happens if my rental breaks down?
Call or text us — we're local, and we fix it fast. Depending on the situation we'll dispatch help or swap you into another car. You're renting from neighbors, not a national call center.
Do you speak Spanish? / ¿Hablan español?
Sí — rentamos y damos soporte en español. East Dallas es bilingüe y nosotros también. Llámenos o escríbanos en el idioma que prefiera.
Why rent from Boss Auto instead of the airport chains?
Because we're on your side of town, we deliver to your door, we rent Teslas the chains don't carry here, and we say yes to people the chains turn away. Local team, transparent pricing, no shuttle, no counter, no runaround.
